To A3F Supporters,

Can you believe it's been almost 4 months since the 4th Annual Almost  
Famous Film Festival 48 Hour Challenge concluded.  What a night that  
was at AMC Theatres in downtown Phoenix!  Sold-out crowd of 465 indie- 
film enthusiasts watching and cheering on the Top 20 teams.  We had  
musicals, drama, comedies and even a film starring puppets!  And it's  
tough to forget the after-party at 1130 The Restaurant which made for  
a great end to a season-long series of incredible film events.

A lot has changed in the months that have passed.  We applied and  
received our non-profit status from the state of Arizona and now are  
just waiting for our letter of recognition from the IRS.  Our newly  
formed non-profit, A3F Incorporated, will be an integral part of the  
community with scholarships for film and writing students, workshops  
and seminars for film students and filmmakers, and eventually an A3F  
media center in 2010.  We are truly excited to have the opportunity to  
give back to everyone who has supported us during the past 4 years.

We realize thought that the staple of our festival is our timed  
challenges and we haven't forgotten those!

• We are hosting Arizona's first-ever 72 Hour Challenge October  
10-13!  Registration for this exciting new event opens July 1.

• Our 2nd Annual International Short Film Festival arrives in February  
2009.  Registration for short films 1-60 minutes is now open on the  
A3F site.

• Our 5th Annual 48 Hour Short Film Challenge kicks-off February  
13-15, 2009 -- this is Arizona's largest and most successful 48 hour  
challenge!

And we are introducing one of the most creative new events for the  
indie-film scene!

• The A3F Music Video Challenge launches July 1 and will be one of the  
coolest events around during our hot summer months!  This is a  
challenge not to be missed!

So as you can see, several new opportunities for you to gather your  
writers, actors and actresses, crew and gear and make some films!   
Also, the A3F has the lowest entry fees in town, almost half of other  
festivals, but we still give away more prizes, goodies, personal  
attention and fame than anyone else around.  That's out mission  
statement -- to make you the filmmakers Almost Famous!
