A3F 2007 Update!

I know everyone is anxiously awaiting the results of this year's  
A3F.  The films are now in the process of being watched and reviewed  
by the judges.  We hope to have the scores back by Friday or Saturday  
at which time we will post the results on the web site.

20 films will make the Top 20 Screening on Thursday, March 1.  Films  
that place 21-40 will screen on Tuesday, February 27.  Both locations  
will be at the AMC Arizona Center 24 Theatres in downtown Phoenix  
with start times of 7 p.m.

Although I know everyone wants to make the Top 20, the Honorable  
Mentions screening is a great opportunity for you to see your film on  
the big screen with your friends and family in attendance.  And with  
81 teams competing this year, this is no small feat to place in the  
HM category!  There will not be any prizes given out to these films,  
but we will have an Audience Favorite vote for the Top 3 HM's!

Films that place 41-66 will not be screened.  This is always a tough  
decision to make, but we want to keep the competition of the  
challenge alive each year and this creates motivation for those teams  
that don't place to try again and improve their filmmaking skills.   
We are planning on holding a workshop post-festival titled, "Why My  
Film Didn't Win?" for those of you who are interested in discussing  
ways to improve your films.  Details to come...

Once the A3F is over, please take advantage of the many other  
festivals that exist today along with several great internet movie  
sites and send your films to these for more exposure.  One note of  
caution, make sure you read the fine print as sites like YouTube take  
the rights to your submissions and sell your work to third-party  
companies and make money off of your efforts.

So get some rest and check back this weekend for the big announcement  
to see if you are Almost Famous!
